Jump the Shark

“Jump the Shark” refers to doing something very brave and probably very foolish. (For those who haven’t seen the 70’s show Happy Days, check it out on YouTube.) But what if what you have in mind isn’t nearly as dangerous and/or foolish as you have built it up in your imagination to be? I think this is often the case, when something new comes our way. It’s almost an automatic reaction to reject new things. Maybe we don’t like change. Maybe it’s unfamiliar and no one we know is doing it. But, maybe you’re missing out on a great opportunity. In the end, we really only regret the chances we didn’t take.
